Absolute and constitutional monarchies?
A Constitutional Monarchy has an either hereditary or elected Monarch that is non-political. They are bound by the Constitution unlike Absolute rulers. The power to p legislation is with the parliament. The Monarch is politically neutral and is advised by ministers on almost everything. The Monarch appoints Prime Ministers, approves certain legislation, and bestows honors. In England the Queen has official roles in the Church of England and the Armed Forces. An absolute Monarchy is not restricted by a Constitution and does not have to be politically neutral. They are practically dictators.
