I need help with ionic ad covalent bonding?

AP Bio. fun cl and i made a 5 on the exam. if two atoms form a covalent bond, then the electrons are shared. if two atoms form an ionic bond, then one atom (the cation) gives an electron to the other atom (the anion) to become stable. The charge difference between the two allow them to become attracted and bond. So basically electron sharing can be simply just sharing or can be a donation of electrons. hope this answers your question, and good luck with ap bio.
