Christians! Do you think that God expects perfection?

How do you deal with not being perfect? I am a peace loving person, but there are two times in life that I have just lost my temper! I do not like this quality in myself that I have seen those few times!It came as a surprise to me that I was even capable of it! It involved protecting my children. I would like to think I would not react the same way, but I can't say for sure! I think I would still fight like a she lion protecting my kids! Even though they are grown and probably do not need protecting! Do you think God expects us to never be imperfect or does He know that we are flesh? Please feel free to explain with scripture!
