In which quadrant does θ lie if tan θ < 0 and csc θ > 0?
Note that csc(theta) = 1/sin(theta). Therefore, if csc(theta) < 0, then sin(theta) < 0. The only quadrant in which this occurs is the fourth quadrant, IV.
